The best of Opera and Comedy together at last!

5 out of 5

Saucy, sultry, and sublime - I'm not sure those really do the show justice, but that's the best I can do with mere words. And I'm not alone - everyone leaving the theater around me was talking about how truly amazing the show was.

The strength of operatic voices in a small venue was breathtaking. The comedy they managed to work in was very well done. Subtle at times, and perfectly matched to the pieces they were singing. I may not have understood a word they were saying (and, admittedly, I'm not a huge opera fan, so the story lines of the songs were not known to me) but I very much enjoyed the entire show.

The hostess did a wonderful job, was bright and funny and even able to laugh at herself when some of the names of the operas didn't quite come out right the first time (despite there being a slightly haughty "opera aficionado" in the crowd there to correct her). She was genuine and funny and did a very nice dance at the end - normally you'd think burlesque would be the highlight of the show, but in this case... sorry, it was a nice dance but you just can't compete with those stunning voices!

I can't even pick a favorite singer. They were all so fantastic. The gondola scene might win out by a hair, but just so barely. Everyone did a fantastic job, and if this show wasn't on your list change that now. You will not regret it!
