Theatre Information

Theatre for Young America has served the Kansas City metropolitan area since 1974, presenting live, professional theater to young audiences. Each play has connections to curriculum topics, and TYA provides a specially prepared Leaders' Guide with background information and classroom activities related to the play. Students attending TYA plays also participate in a question-and-answer session with the actors, and schools may book an Outreach Workshop conducted on school site. TYA performances are now at Union Station on H&R Block City Stage. We also offer a full complement of drama classes for children 3 through 18, taught by theatre professionals at Wonderscope Children's Museum in Shawnee, KS.
