Unicorn Theatre is a 37-year-old not-for-profit professional theater located in Kansas City, Missouri's urban core.
Our mission is to enhance the cultural life of Kansas City by producing professional, thought-provoking theatre that inspires emotional response and stimulates discussion. Unicorn productions have earned a reputation for exceeding expectations, bringing audiences to their feet, and moving them from apathy to passion about issues of racial, sexual and religious diversity, social justice, integrity, and honor. It takes the power of the performance to really understand what the Unicorn accomplishes in the lives of its patrons.
The Unicorn is the only theater in the area to feature Kansas City's professional theater artists in world premieres and regional premieres of contemporary works, including five of the most recent Pulitzer Prize winners and nine of the 12 most recent Tony Award winners.
